New York's The Town Hall, has been a landmark venue in Midtown Manhattan since 1921. Staying true to its name, it has been host to several historical town hall meetings including Margaret Sanger's pleads for birth control legalization in its inaugural year. It has also been used for more literary fair and has garnered a reputation as being a poet's paradise. During the '30s, the hall was used to broadcast America's Town Meetings on the Air, which was broadcast there for over twenty years. By this time, the venue had become home to classical performances by such famed musicians as Lily Pons and Yehudi Menuhin.

The Town Hall is also notable for hosting Marian Anderson's New York debut. By the '40s, the venue had become notable for its many jazz musicians that performed there. Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Max Roach all made appearances at this historic landmark throughout the year. This rich jazz tradition has continued through today and it often hosts some of the best jazz concerts that New York has to offer.

In 2009, The Town Hall was chosen by Whitney Houston to record her first interview in seven years as the venue was where she made her debut at age 14. In 2011, The Town Hall hosted President Barack Obama, continuing its legacy as a historical landmark. The Town Hall continues to be one of New York's most famed venues, for good reason. It holds a special place in the hears of the artists that choose to perform there and as such is a New York cultural treasure.
